Updated August 13, 2008---Plans as amended by ST Board on July 24
Link light rail: provides fast, reliable and high-capacity service up to every few minutes and 20 hours a day. Connects urban centers, operating on its own exclusive right of way independent of congestion.
Sounder commuter rail: commuter-oriented service that operates on existing freight rail corridors primarily during the morning and evening commute periods. Parking is provided at the stations to enhance access to commuter rail.
ST Express bus service: ST Express service operates in freeway HOV lanes, serving major regional centers. The ST Express bus system is supported by a network of transit facilities including transit centers, park and rides and dedicated freeway ramps. The ST Express system represents the foundation of a regional bus rapid transit (BRT) system that can achieve improved frequency, speed and reliability through further service and capital investments.
