On Tuesday, May 13, the Joint Transportation Committee of the Washington State Legislature held a hearing at Sound Transit on a variety of transportation topics important to the Puget Sound.
The Committee got an update on Sound Transit's system expansion planning efforts and the on-going efforts to hear from citizens about the next set of transit investments for the Puget Sound. Click here to view a copy of the slide presentation given by Sound Transit.
The Committee also heard from Sound Transit, WSDOT, and King County Metro on transportation coordination and integration in the region. The three agencies described their common goal to improve mobility in the Puget Sound, and how the unique mission of each agency contributes to meeting that goal. As population and congestion grow and gas prices continue to rise, the critical collaboration to integrate planning, capital investments, services, fares and corridor management have already paid dividends.
